Marko Mäkinen is an Odoo enthusiast and product owner for freight shipping connectors from Scandinavia's leading Odoo Gold partner SprintIT. Marko has developed multiple freight related integrations to Odoo that can: A) help B2C webshop customers in choosing pickup locations, B) compare real freight costs between different shipping methods and C) organize shippings with multiple different carriers directly from Odoo all around Europe.
During his nearly 5 year’s career with Odoo, he has been part of the team that built one of the biggest Odoo implementations in the world. Marko enjoys both solving problems with coding and managing complex projects in the world of Odoo.
In this talk, I will show you how to utilize Odoo’s full power in shippings and present few life changing integrations which improve customer experience in Odoo Ecommerce. Integrations shown here are utilizing Odoo's standard way of working.
You will see how a European B2C customer can choose a pick-up location in the Odoo webshop. This is done using integration with the nShift Delivery Checkout. This way, B2C customers can choose their preferred pickup location under the delivery method. I will then continue explaining how the process moves forward with pickup location data and is finally transferred to the carrier via Odoo’s nShift connector. I will also demonstrate another way to utilize this module, as we can also choose pickup locations directly from the picking.
And this is not all, I will show how we can utilize real freight price information with an integration to Logentia. This integration enables us to charge estimated real shipping costs from webshop customers and it is linked to multiple Odoo modules such as eCommerce, Sale order and Picking. It can also be used to compare freight prices and choose the cheapest available carrier for selected destinations in sale order or picking.
Key learnings:
Odoo’s eCommerce is perfect for managing shipping related integrations by adding new features to it.
Value to Audience:
Audience will understand how it is possible to bring value to B2C customers by utilizing pickup locations in B2C eCommerce and save money in freight costs by comparing freight prices in different stages of sales and delivery process.
Target audience:
Everybody who has or is interested about Odoo eCommerce and is shipping physical products to their customers. Also interesting for all who are building integrations to Odoo’s eCommerce.
