Jacob Neubaum is the CEO of BizyLife. He most recently left his position as Product Manager at one of the leading Oracle NetSuite partner for the Life Sciences industry. They were on Philly’s 100 fastest growing company list every year he was there. Under his leadership, the development team grew by 300%, developed a sophisticated delivery process, and published SuiteApps. Even though Jacob loved working there, he felt that NetSuite was a closed system that discouraged innovation in its marketplace. He was so enamored by Odoo’s vibrant ecosystem that he left his job to build a business implementing Odoo.
Jacob recently left the Oracle NetSuite space and will explain how Odoo is winning the battle for hearts and minds of talented software developers, propelling it forward as the leader in the ERP space and leaving traditional ERPs in the dust. Odoo’s transparent codebase, open marketplace, and its tendency to share knowledge rather than hide it make it impossible for traditional ERPs to keep up with its pace of innovation over time. On the contrary, traditional ERP’s obfuscated processes, restrictive marketplaces, and closed knowledge sharing undermine the significance of its community to its growth. Jacob led product development for a top performing NetSuite SDN Partner that published SuiteApps to the NetSuite marketplace and has valuable insight into how a strong marketplace and ecosystem is key to either stifle or encourage innovation.
This talk is a must-hear for prospective Odoo customers considering Odoo over more traditional ERP systems, businesses that are considering becoming Odoo partners, and others curious about how Odoo compares to one of its top competitors, NetSuite.
